An empty house is not a finished one. The clean is what turns a cleared property into one that can be handed over.
Scope depends on how long the property has been lived in, whether carpets and appliances are staying, the state of the yard, and whether outbuildings are included.
Inside
Floors, carpets, kitchens including inside the appliances, bathrooms, windows, light fittings, cupboards and closets. Long-tenure homes usually need more than a standard clean, and that is assessed once the contents are out rather than guessed beforehand.
Outside
Yard tidying, removal of what accumulated behind the shed, gutters where they are reachable, and clearing the paths and driveway. On acreage this extends to the outbuildings, which are often in worse shape than the house.
Why it runs on from the clearing
Cleaning a property that is still full is wasted effort, and booking two separate contractors around each other costs an estate time it does not need to spend. Running one into the other removes a scheduling problem the executor would otherwise own.
